Learn how to be a Professional Face Painter! This course is designed to either start your face painting career, or you may do it just for fun! Professional face painters are in high demand & agents are always seeking well-trained, costumed face painters to represent their agencies.

Beginners Course
5 x Lessons

When: Thursday Evenings | 6:30pm - 9:30pm | Starts 1 FEB | 5 Weeks
(Feb 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th)

Tutor: Diana Cooke
Award-winning Face & Body Artist, as well as the Looney Bin and FPA Proprietor, with over 30yrs experience in the face painting industry.

Course Outline:

• Lesson 1: Products & Techniques. Two step-by-step designs
• Lesson 2: Sanitising & Safety Standards. Pro Equipment. Two step-by-step designs.
• Lesson 3:  Routine practices from taking a booking to getting home safely. Two step-by-step designs.
• Lesson 4: All about operating your professional business. Agents, insurance, copyright, advertising, fees, travelling, WWC registration, costuming, cancellations, invoicing & accounting.
• Lesson 5: Menu board displays & introduction to one strokes & stencils. You will learn 5 fast & furious designs. 

Important Details:

• $50 security deposit (non-refundable) required to secure booking
• The remaining $420 is payable by the first lesson
• Maximum of 6 students
• Students must be over 18 years old
• Come in and set up for a prompt 6:30pm start. (Diana will be there from 6:00pm)
• During class we will be painting on face boards that Diana will provide for you
• You will receive a handbook with all the notes, so you don’t have to write all the information down. Then revise after each class with an opportunity for any questions.
• No food is consumed during the class (water bottles are ok)
• Purchases from Looney Bin can be done online anytime before 1pm Thursdays and Diana will have your orders ready for you to collect in class that night.
• Missed classes can be made up by attending the next group of classes. 

Equipment Needed:
You will need a Basic Beginner Face Painting Kit to participate in the class.
(or your own similar version)

• 12 colour palette of Face Paint (or individual cakes)
  Recommended Brands: Face Paints Australia (FPA) or TAG

• Brushes:
  2 x #2 Round
  2 x #4 Round
  2 x 1/4" Angle
  2 x 1" Flat

• 4 x plastic water jars or a brush tub

• Sponges:
  3 x ½ sponges
  1 x pack of mini ½ sponges
  1 x pack of butterfly sponges

• Glitter:
  1 x Poofer bottle of Crystal Mint cosmetic loose glitter
  1 x Essential Glitter Balm (Eg: Icicle, Crystal Prism or Platinum)

• Washable wipes (or wet wipes), hand towel, and a bag for rubbish

• 2 x 50gm FPA cake: Outback and Serendipity.

• 2 x 28gram one stroke cakes - any choice. 

• 4 x finger daubers (Or make-up blenders)

• Stencils used for class #5: Fairy, Superheros, Dinosaurs, Shell, Unicorn, Scales, Mandala and Stars.
